"To be accessible to the community, to explore it's needs, to educate, encourage and promote the Arts to the highest standard possible, at all levels."

Mission Statement

A little about us...

Waitākere Arts is a not-for-profit community arts organisation located at 'The Studio', Corban Estate Arts Centre in Henderson, Auckland.

We are an eclectic group of people from a diversity of backgrounds and experience with a passion for making art.

We are run by an active committee of enthusiastic artists and have a Manager who works on site. Our vision is to serve our community through art.

Our studio rooms are open during the week for a range of activities including open studio sessions, workshops, and various art-related events. It is here that is the social hub of our art community - a place to create together, share ideas, learn, meet new people, display work and engage with the wider community. These rooms are also available to hire for art related projects.

Waitākere Arts holds two exhibitions every year. These include a wide variety of artistic mediums and creative expression, both 2D and 3D. We host a Members Exhibition in March/April and our Trusts Exhibition held each Sept/Oct which is open to the wider Auckland community to enter. This exhibition also has a youth component, open to 13 – 18-year-olds.

Waitākere Arts is honoured to be generously supported by Auckland City Council, The Trusts Community Foundation, The Trusts and Henderson /Massey local Board along with many local businesses. Through their financial and relational support, we have enjoyed serving our community for over 35 years.
