WAITĀKERE ARTS (Waitākere Central Community Arts Council) is a Not-for-Profit organisation who has been in operation for more than 50 years.  We have always encouraged community art and welcome members of the public to visit The Studio, at the historic Corban Estate Arts Centre in Henderson.

We are in the business of making and exhibiting art, both for enjoyment and for those who would like to take a more professional approach.  Art is inspirational as well as being a cathartic exercise.

We offer Open Sessions; Workshops; and Classes in painting, drawing, craft, photography, mixed media, assemblage.  We have members who are keen to mentor, so let us know how we can assist.

Our Open Sessions are relaxed and very much about open discussion on art and socialising.

Waitākere Arts annually hosts The Trusts Greater Auckland Art Awards Exhibition in September/October and this has been running for 35 years as of 2021!  This awards exhibition is open to any artist who can bring in their artwork and collect and is open to all artists working in oil, acrylic, pastels, watercolours, ink, pencil, crayon, gouache, charcoal, pen, chalk, collage, mixed media, print-making, sculptures, assemblage and a 13-18 year old Art and Photography Category.  We are very proud to have highly regarded judges for this awards exhibition.

Our Members Exhibitions brings out the best in showing off our member's creativity and this is held in March/April each year, also held in Shed 2 and is a mini Trusts Exhibition.

Waitākere Arts running and development is possible only through generous support and sponsorship from Auckland Council, The Trusts Community Foundation. The Trusts and Henderson Massey Local Board.
